Carbon print workshop

BORUT PETERLIN - STRAŽA, SLOVENIA
After working with a dozen techniques, it was the carbon print's turn. The dynamic range of carbon prints in printed photography cannot be described. You have to see it live. If you have seen exceptional photos made in carbon print on the web, know that they look even more perfect in person.
I started doing tests in this technique and experimented with various GLOPs in which I changed the amount of gelatin, pigment, dichromate, and tried to get photos like I saw live. It didn't quite work out that way. Considering all the variables that should be adjusted, had to be adjusted, or could be adjusted, I estimated that it is still cheaper to consult someone who has been doing it for years.
That's why I decided to attend Borut Peterlin's workshop, Carbon Print.
It was worth every minute.
Although I came with prior knowledge and experience, it turned out again that "little things" make up the last necessary component (experience) for the results to be as they must be.
The workshop took place at a leisurely but very working pace (approx. 9:00-19:00). We removed the confusion piece by piece and polished the details that make the difference. I saved weeks or months of "tuning" the process to the desired quality.
Returning to Zagreb, I threw myself into work in the darkroom while the impressions and information were still fresh.
I hope an exhibition shot with collodion and printed in carbon will be available soon.
