Tomorrow Dominic Miller's new album "Vagabond" is officially released, and on it is a portrait - an ambrotype "in the old style"
from my small workshop on Jarun.
The artist, through some strange combination of life circumstances (thanks Borko Auguštin), appeared in front of my camera and in ten minutes of photo-process became a sincere supporter of images that emerge from the combination of three transient components - a short flash of light, transparent chemicals and the fragility of glass.
Not even the unusual stylistic coincidence with the previously selected cover photo (Fotini Potamia) could help. Knowing the legendary musical and visual standard of the publisher (ECM - of course, Manfred Eicher still approves of all the details, including this portrait) as a "young" photographer I can only say - not bad for a start I am humble/proud and grateful for the trust.
